Rules of submission

  • Please read the submission rules before submitting an abstract.
  • Submitting an abstract DOES NOT register you for PHOCON 2024. You can register online by visiting the registrations page on this website.
  • It is mandatory for the presenting author to register for the conference to have the abstract included in the conference proceedings.
  • Last date for submitting abstracts: September 15, 2024.

Guidelines for submission

  • Abstracts should be submitted online through the submission link provided on this page.
  • All abstracts are subject to review by the Scientific Committee and acceptance into the program is not guaranteed.

Preferred presentation type should be selected while submitting the abstract

  • Oral Presentation
  • Poster Presentation

The scientific committee reserves the right to accept/ reject/ assign a different presentation type to all the abstracts submitted; if selected.

Abstract Title

  • Please write the title in UPPER CASE and should be limited to 25 words.

Limitations:

  • Abstracts presented earlier cannot be submitted unless there is significant new data.
  • Case reports and small institutional series of limited added scientific value are not encouraged.
  • A delegate may serve as presenting author for a maximum of 5 abstracts.
  • Presenting authors must be a registered participant. Only abstracts of authors who have their registration process completed, by the abstract submission deadline, will be considered for review.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
  • All abstracts should be submitted and presented in English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest - Abstract submitters should disclose any conflict of interests while submitting the abstract.
  • Instructions for preparation of presentations will be made available on the PHOCON 2024 website after the review process is over.

Abstract Text

  • Abstract should be limited to 300 words and is inclusive of  sub-headings.
  • Abstracts should clearly state the following:
    • Background and Aim
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
  • The abstract may include one table or graph or picture.
  • Abstracts that merely state that results will be subject to rejection
  • Use only standard abbreviations. Abbreviations must be consistent and be defined on 1st usage, then use of abbreviation.
  • Disease names should be written without apostrophes, for example: Wilms tumour, Burkitt lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, etc. Please do not refer to patients by their diseases e.g., ‘Wilms tumour patients’ or ALL patients’. Instead identify them as ‘patients with Wilms tumour; and ‘patients with ALL’.
  • Use generic names of drugs. The presentation must be balanced and contain no commercial promotional content.
  • Do not begin sentences with a number – type the number in full, for example, it should be ‘Three patients….’ Instead of ‘3 patients….’.
  • Numbers over 999 must include a comma, e.g., 2,000.
  • Decimal points must be displayed as periods (4.89) not commas (4,89).
  • Numbers beginning with a decimal point should be preceded by a zero.
  • All measurements must be in metric units.
  • An acknowledgement with an identification (unique) number shall be shared with you on receipt of your abstract. Please refer to this abstract number in all correspondence regarding the abstract. Do check your spam/ junk folder if you do not see an acknowledgement in your mailbox.
  • Please contact the conference secretariat if you do not receive acknowledgement of abstract within 48 hrs. of submission.
  • Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract. If such a case is found, the abstract received second time will be considered, and retrieval of the older one will not be possible.
  • If the application is not submitted in the prescribed format (as mentioned above), it will not be considered for review.

Withdrawal of abstract

Withdrawal of presentation should be intimated to the conference secretariat on or before September 30, 2024.

You will be able to register though this portal too. You may choose to submit abstract/s now and register later
(by paying the registration fee) using the same login credentials, which you create.

Important

  • Authors have the option to edit/ rework on their abstract/s till the last day of submission August 31, 2024, 2024 (midnight – IST). Once the deadline is over, NO REVISIONS/ EDITING will be allowed.
  • When submitting an abstract for review, make sure you click the submit button one time only. If you do not click the submit button, your abstract will not get submitted & hence will not be considered for review.
  • Notification regarding acceptance of the submission will be sent to the author on the email provided while submitting the abstract.
